Being plum centre in the vibrant county of Oxfordshire, close to the Cotswolds, and other centres of entertainment, there is always somewhere to go and be entertained, whatever the season. In addition, there is always something of interest happening in our pub.
31st July – 3rd August 2025. Wilderness Festival, set in the picturesque Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire, is a multi-arts and music event that transcends the ordinary. Wilderness is an immersive experience, offering a diverse array of activities from wild-swimming in its lakes to forest explorations. It’s not just a festival; it’s a journey into a world of creativity, music, culinary delights, and engaging workshops. Here, you can indulge in everything from foraging and crafting to thought-provoking debates and vibrant musical performances.
Thursday 1st May 2025. May Morning is an annual event in Oxford, held on 01 May – a tradition stretching back over 500 years. The event typically attracts crowds of thousands of people – students and Oxford residents alike – who start gathering under the tower, on Magdalen Bridge, and along the High Street from around 5.00am. Students and fellows of Magdalen College gather in the college cloisters and on top of the other towers within the college grounds. At 6.00am, the Magdalen College Choir sing a hymn, the Hymnus Eucharisticus, written by the College’s 17th Century choirmaster Benjamin Rogers, from the top of the 144ft Magdalen Tower.
18th – 22nd June 2025. Nocturne Live turns The Great Court at Blenheim Palace into a grand arena with world-class acts and 10,000 seats. It can be an all-day affair with VIP dining in the famous State Rooms, a stroll in the palace’s vast grounds, or a waterside picnic. It can also be an evening gig for those who just want to hear their favourite live music. Festival lineup includes Richard Ashcroft / Lightning Seeds / The Zutons / Gary Barlow

Starting on 31 January 2025 with a Friday night match between France and Wales, and to end with France against Scotland on 15 March, we will be showing LIVE matches together with food and drink to add to the excitement of this annual feast of Rugby. Monday 10th February to Saturday 15th February. The Plough is an excellent venue for a secret assignation, the perfect place to celebrate Valentine’s. We’ve made it a lot easier this year by serving a special menu on each of our Valentine’s nights. Of course, it’s even better if you stay in our romantic bolthole, away from it all.
